valentine one is great, here in cali, radar detectors are legal, but of course jammers arent.

detectors are technically legal, but the cop is he's being an idiot, can give you a ticket for it...like he did to me once, he said it was obstructing my view on the windsheild. freakin chp.

late,

I'll vouch for that...

All the features and performance of the V1 for $100 and change less...

I've had my 8500x50 since March, and can't say anything bad about it.

because it detects radar not cop cars. get a bigger rear view mirror so those freakin chp's motorcycles can't hide in your blind spot.

Why would he be worried about CHP's when he's in Florida?

haha, but I have had both the Escort and the V1... The V1 out performs the escort, plain and simple. Plus the V1 is fully upgradable, so that you can update your detector for the newest systems out, instead of buying a new detector like the Escort. I think the Escort is a good name for it, refers to the shitty model FORD and a good way to get an Escort to jail...depending your speeds!

V1=
Escort =

I own the X50 blue and my friend owns a Valentine One. Placed side by side for three weeks of summer roadtrips the x50 detected many cops seconds before in both cities and highways. The Valentine One's arrows suck, they are inaccurate and distracting. My Blue LEDs were much easier to detect, and yes, the X50 is upgradable.

Pretty much any of the high end models should work well. I used a high end Bell when I drove across the country and it saved me a bunch of times. I picked it up at Circuit City on my way and when I got to San Diego I returned it. If I buy another one it will most likely be another Bell or the Escort.

LOL I've done that too. I got stuck with my x50 because I took longer than 14 days. Damn that pissed me off (best buy). But yeah, you can send in the Escort for an upgrade if you register it.

Hey, I was in my friends car and we got off of an off ramp and then his radar detector started going off and he said" There's a cop somewhere around here"
And he just kept driving and about 2/3 of a mile down the road behind some tree's was a cop with his radar gun, we were amazed cuz is radar detector was only like $120 or so, And when I ride with him, when there is a cop about 1/4 a mile from him his radar detector goes off ans starts beeping, and as the cop gets closer its beeps faster.
I was surprised how well his works,

A lot of the detectors accuracy comes from how it is used; placement on the windshield is supposed to give the detector the clearest view of the road it can have. I'm curious, was that a Cobra radar detector? I had one (my first one) and I was actually pleased with it.
