FS: 1988 Honda CRX, So California, clean title, 80k on CRX SI motor, $2200
I am finally selling my CRX after about 10 months of ownership. The reason for sale is because I have just bought a WRX that will replace it as my daily driver. Here are the specs on the car.
1988 Honda CRX HF
- 228k miles on chassis
- clean title
- roughly 75k on a new CRX SI motor
- intake and DC headers
- pioneer in-dash CD player
- upgraded pioneer speakers all around
- brand new tokico blue shocks all around (4k miles on them)
- brand new brembo front brake rotors (4k miles on them)
- brand new distrubuter (previous owner changed it)
- brand new spark plugs and wires (previous owner changed it)
The car runs great. No grinding at all when shifting and the car drives straight. The car was my daily driver from home to school and I have made 7-8 trips down to SD without trouble since I have owned the car. The car Does not overheat and the idle is steady and never hunts. I change the oil every 2-3k miles and always use a Honda OEM oil filter with Mobil 1 non-syn oil.
The only problems with the car are as follows.
-rear trunk hatch shocks are going out so when you open the trunk you have to prop it up so it does not fall down.
-a/c does not work
-car will not pass SMOG because the car needs a new catalytic converter.
The SMOG issue will be taken care of for the new owner once the car is sold.
Car is located in Irvine California 92604

the car is a 5 speed manual and the clutch was changed when the new motor was installed.
the car is the perfect beater. its reliable, cheap, gets good gas milage, and make decent power for passing people on the freeway.
