what cams would you put in a b16a, street drivable, and mid range power is nice...
ITR or CTR which are stone cold reliable.
But you may have to forget about any "midrange" power since you are gonna need VTEC up to get anything.
I will tell you that advancing your compression will def. help some esp in 1st gear, but Corvette, it ain't....

if you want streetable power and great midrange, there is no comparison to R-cams. ITR or CTR. just ask jeff at importbuilders and import review

If you have the money, Spoon cams are excellent for midrange. They are designed for road racing which requires midrange. They made great top end power too.

well i dont think these would work TODA VTEC killers cause if you used that then your mid range would be 6k cause they idle at 2k prolly. it is a full race cam
Jun 3s or TODA VTEC killers

Any set of 'R' cams or a Spoon intake/'R' exhaust cam(s) work well too, what's dope about that cam combo is that you're using OEM honda cams (yes spoon cams are made by Honda for spoon if you didnt know) -- a 421 header to maintain good midrange., and possibly a 4.785 final drive also, to help out low end 'umph' as well.
Can either the ctr, or itr cams fit the b16a. straight up, no valve adjustments, required and such.. Also here is a link to a dyno of typeR cams, jun spec3 cams and toda c's, as you can see the jun's make the most power, but the r cams killed them both until 7100rpm for midrange power, and since I"m planing to leave my rpm cutoff around 8000-8400, the R cams are what I'm thinking, since the car will be a daily driver, and I'm not trying to build the fastest car on the street, just a fast one, thats reliable, and with a nice idle...ha http://www.importreview.com/reviews/...n3VStyper.html
skunk2. (from the original thread https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=47717)

In the B16A the 1.74 r/s keeps the piston at TDC longer to take advantage of the looooong duration on the skunks. In B18's the results aren't as good as R cams.

Personally, the Ctr cams are pretty nice cams for the application that you want. If you really want the power, go with the Jun type 3's. My friend has the jun cams, valve springs, and retainers. He is running the p28 ecu reprogrammed with a Vtec controller. He has a ported ITR throttle body on the b16a with the Skunk 2 intake manifold. He's also running DC Sports 4 into uno header and the Tanabe Racing Medalion. When his Vtec hits, it's just dirty. Him and his brother is running the same setup and his brother has the Toda C's and they both are daily drivers. The Jun cams are no where near as lumpy as the C's, because the cams are not even as big as people would think, therefore it doesn't require as much tuning as the microtuning C's. After setting both cars on the dyno with the same motors, same everything, Jun cams are just putting out the power and trust me, those cams idle like stock and these are RACE CAMS. I like both cams, but if you want the the Jun cams you might wanna put your thumb in your mouth for a while, because it's been about 4 months for me waiting now=Backorder. I like them both, but I am too impressed with the Jun type 3's. Just my .02 cents.

thanks alot for the dyno, thats it, that totally convinced me to go with skunk2's thanks alot man.
I just put in CTR Intake cam and ITR Exhaust cam with Spoon cam gears and valve springs/crower retainers. No adjustment to cam gears yet. I feel power gain everywhere and it screams 6500 up. Screw those little b16a sticks. I have a flat spot when v-tec kicks in, but that's why it's going to dyno and you need adjustable cam gears if your going to make power out of your cams. You can't drop and play. If you can get a good deal on ITR or CTR cams, it's worth it. I sent my Zdyne ecu out today to get redline to 9500K. After I'm going to the dyno and I'll post my adjustments made timing, cam gears, fuel regulator ect.... But I would get Toda or Spoon next time around. Check out my link below if you wanna see my mods if it's similar to your setup.
I dunno, I've heard bad things about the Skunks. Supposedly they had two different batches. The first batch turned out to be CTR cams that were reground. The second batch, I guess, are new cores and not regrinds. Hearing that, I decided I would never go with those Skunks just because of that.
ok, but are we not talking affordable? still think dialed itr's a good bet moneywise! and reliability!
ok people skunk2 is NOT using reground cams anymore they had one bad batch of cams and the customers cars that were effected by them were taken very well care of.

It's like buying a carbon fiber hood for 500 and actually getting a stock hood with fake *** carbon fiber film over it.

I would have to say go with the Skunk2's!!!!!! I have a b16a in a 96 HB. I just put the Skunk2 cams, AEM cam gears, Skunk2 Intake Manifold, DC 4to1, Thermal catback exhaust, AEM CAI, and OBD1 conversion. Those cams F@%#ing ROCK when the VTEC kicks in just my opinion!!!!!!
