Default b18c1 in 1989 crx hf everythign is wired up but no spark obd1

Just put the engine in and tried to start it the spark plugs arent gettting any spark. I'm getting fuel though.
If cam timing is off would the car still get spark?
Could my distributor gone bad? The motor started last year when it was in another car.

I'm positive the timing is rigiht but my friend suggested the cam timing might be off but it cranks over fine no interferance issues.

i had the same problem in my 91 when i put a B16 into it. it has to do with the wiring. it was dual point fuel injection right?

Hard to say, could be a number of things as you know (grounds, ignitor, coil, etc.). How does the cap and rotor look on the inside? New sparkplugs I assume? Any CEL's?

if you go to http://www.hasport.com they should have a list of the differences in the wiring to the ecu. it has to do with the fuel injectors because they send a signal to the distributor to tell it what cylinder to fire, along with the crank sensor and so you have to wire it in right or you wont get spark. like i said i just had the same problem with my swap last week. but for more info just look at hasport.

im using blown hatches obd0-obd1 with obd0 fuel injectors im getting fuel. Just no spark at the plugs. So Im thinking the igniter is bad...need to find another dizzy. Im getting plent of fuel. The wiring is all right all i hade to do was the wires to the dizzy and oxygen sensor and vtec stuff (3 wires 1 was ground).

The distributor hadnt been used in a year or so so im thinking maybe it went bad just sitting on a shelf in my garage? The started had to get smacked with hammer to get it to turn But the car is cranking just not starting and im getting fuel. Wiring is all correct. Where are all the grounds suppose to be? Diagram I know i saw on on here somewhere.

i see but i had the same exact problem i was getting fuel and i thought everything else was right but i wasnt getting anything out of the distributor. i put all new components in it and still the same it was the wiring to the ecu but if you 100% sure about the wiring then it might be the distibutor components

There should be a ground on the thermostat housing, on from the valve cover to the chassis, one from the tranny to the chassis and one from the battery negative to the chassis. I would check those first, then try switching ignitors and/or coils.

I would check the wiring and if its not that then you got a bad distributor. But most likely its the wiring. I'm have the same problem with my car but I had it running for a second then it died out. So good luck with your car.

yeah if those 2 distributor wires are crossed for obd 0 - obd1 will the car not get spark?

I was actually thinking that the 2 white wires may have been crossed. I matched it exactly w/ my dizzy setup but, it's worth a try. I'll be over later for some more trouble shooting.

Def,

Sounds good man. Let me know when you get that distributor king distributor. Many times the colors do not correspond with OE colors. If this happens and you and masta phil can't figure it out, hit me up and I will make it happen.

the problem was due to a bad wire/ vaccum line being hooked up wrong and, timing being off.
