Default tranny gone bad?????

if anyonecould help me on this I really appreciate it...
I have a problem with my drive train, today it was runing fine until I went to get on the highway. while going up the on-ramp my car made a boom sound and knocked me out of gear. I went to put it back in and released the clutch to get going again but car didnt move, so when i pulled to the side of the road and fully stopped i threw it back into 1st gear and triedto go and noticed that my mph needle was going up but i wasnt, car was at a dead stop... so far i have removed both axles and they seem fine, no signs of broken axles.... does anyone knowif its the trannythat is blown, could it be my clutch, or what???? any sugestions or ideas on things to chek i would really appreciate...
thanx in advance...

All you can do is get the tranny out and check the clutch/flywheel/release bearing. If nothing is wrong there, get scared, have a few beers to calm yourself, and tear the tranny apart. It's hard to tell from what you described....

something i noticed now is that on the inner part of the drivers side axle there is a spring clip and about 1/4 inch or so after that spring clip looks like its stripped but before that spring clip all the teeth look good...

sound like you spit out a axle for some reason, twisting the tip of the axle.
You'll have to buy another axle, and likely they will NOT accept yous as a core.

Find out WHY it popped out first though.

I think your tranny is blown something in your trannys still turning if the speedos still working that means your clutch has to be working so i doubt its that first off you should check if youve got tranny fluid in there.

thinking can be dangerous.

I have 5 guinea pigs (bad trannys) that have been blown. When the diff blows, the parts take out ALOT and you will know it.

The speedo still working means diff is intact and one axle is either broke or slipped out of the side spider gear.

Hate to do this, but i have to tell you that i've got a very nice J1 tranny for sale.

The J1 has IDENTICAL gearing to the U.S ITR and has the coveted 4.400 final drive in it too. I've seen these trannies go for $800 ALONE, but you can have this one for $800.00 WITH a perfectly fine 1st-gen B16A attached to it.

I bought a car that had this in it, but I've already got another swap waiting to go in it, so hence the need to sell this swap. The motor has as many miles on it as it did when it was pulled from it's original car in Japan - the U.S owner NEVER drove the car. He lost interest and sold the car to me.

I'm in GA - $800.00 is a KILLER deal for a nice 1st-gen swap - MOST impostantly you're getting what I think is THE best cable b-series tranny. The J1 is the ONLY one that for SURE has the ITR gearing anf 4.400 final drive - an S1 could be either the good gearing or the ultra-SHITTY LS gearing with 4.26 ****-final drive.

I just noticed you're from FLA - i'd even meet you halfway if you needed me to. Let me know.

IM me if you're interested...

Read your sig...I guess you're making the power?

Offer's out there - what tranny are you running now? If it's anything but a J1 or the S1 from thje Xs-i Integra then the tranny I've got would not only fix your problem, but help out your acceleration.

Do this:

COUNT THE TEETH ON EACH GEAR AND THE FINAL DRIVE WHILE THE TRANNY IS APART.

Then you can do some equation (it escapes me right now ) to find out your gearing and such. Let me know, okay?

Later. IM me if you come up with the money.
