Run the CRX without the crossmember?
My friend has a CRX and he's trying to run his 3 inch downpipe that he bought but it will not clear the front crossmember. He was wondering if anyone has run their CRX without a crossmember?
You can not run your car with the crossmember. The crossmember holds your front suspenion togethere. You have no control over your car what so ever without it on. Do not do it.

I would not move my car without the crossmember..
[Even without the engine and transmission in it..]
It is about the only thing that even resembles a frame on a unibody car..

I removed mine one night to install a header. The header would not clear the x-member.
I thought I could make it home w/o it. Tried to drive it and parked it immediately. You have to have it. As mentioned above, it holds the front suspension together.

yea im going to cut like a inch out of mine for my turbo drain line. since i will not be cutting all the way through the crossmember it should be ok. Shouldnt it?
BTW it will have only a 1x2" cut

I would just get an aftermarket one if you need the extra clearance. Personally, I'm not too fond of cutting up essential parts of the suspension, especially the crossmember.

I believe the JimFab one is pretty affordable, as is the Place Racing one. Full-Race also makes a crossmember unit as well. Z10 is pricey, but you get what you pay for. For me, there are certain parts on a car that I won't skimp on. Suspension parts are one of those.

i cut my front sub frame and welded a plate in to it and the night ran it at the track the next night so if you have someone that can weld really good then you'll be straight
