Default will low oil turn on CEL?

I was driving last night and my car was bogging like crazy and the CEL popped on. I drove home and let it sit. This morning I checked the oil and there was none to be found on the dip stick so I filled it with 2.5 quarts and it funs fine. Will my CEL turn off eventually or do I have to do it manually?

What cel is it giving you? If it was me I would grab the cel, then reset the ecu. You might want to find out why your car was 2.5 quarts low

CEL's never just turn off on their own, you have to reset them. Go ahead and check the code. Then reset the ECU by taking the negative terminal off the battery for approx. 10 seconds and put it back on. If the CEL returns, check it again and address the problem accordingly. good luck

I have no idea why I'm low on oil. It seems like every time I check or change the oil its low. My friend told me about some oil additive that seals leaks it it work for his older EF. I'll just keep an eye on the oil and if it drops I'm gonna have to get it checked out.

Off topic, but do stock honda exhausts ten to fall apart? My exhaust rattles and about 2 years ago it completely fell off. I might just put aftermarket on.

Thanks for the tips though, I appreciate it.

Do you have any leaks? Look under your car car for any leaks. If none, you are burning oil like crazy and your piston rings are probably shot.

ALL exhaust systems deteriorate over time, it's natural. Only thing you can do to prevent that is a Stainless Steel cat-back. Then again, $$$.

Yeah it burns oil like crazy because I never see any oil spots under my car. I might just sell the car if its leaking because in the long run its gonna cost me a lot of money for a swap because I have an auto tranny so I'd have to swap out all the auto parts to put in manual parts.

Well i got the CEL to turn off and it stayed off. My Idle was very low though. The tach was just on the dash above zero. I just adjusted it manually on the throttle body. Is this the correct way?

If you find a complete manual motor it wont really cost you that much. When you try to buy only what you need, that's what nickles and dimes you to death. Get a complete motor for a swap and sell all the leftovers
