Default Help please, CEL!!!

Hey guys, got a couple questions.

Tonight I was driving home from a movie with my friend in the car. We thought we'd have some fun and I wound out some gears, to the top of 4th. I went around a long corner at high speed. My engine threw a CEL at me. I think it might have starved for oil for a moment.

I pulled over and checked the oil. It was low, so I topped it up. The car still had a CEL. I drove the car home without going over 3500rpm. All operations were normal. I can't think what it might be. How do I check my cel codes and how do I find out what the numbers correspond to? I have owned the car for 70000KM with no CEL ever showing up. I drive the car hard but take good care of it (3000mile oil changes.) The car has 130 000km on it (roughly 85k miles.)

Any help is apreciated.

Do you think I should reset the ECU to see if it is still there? I think it might have been caused by oil starvation on that corner. The car was really low (I haven't been checking) when I checked it.

There was another post about this a while back. I am pretty sure a lot of people suggested resetting the ECU. For the life of me I can't remember what the other solutions were. I would wait for a few more people to speak up though.

Do a search. There are several posts related to the CEL and some solutions.

No code showing. I will reset the ECU and post results.

For those of you who may encounter this thread under a search, go to http://www.c-speedracing.com . You will find all of the necessary information on the CEL and codes. Trouble shooting these codes is another matter entirely, but at least you have a direction with the code.

UPDATE: it appears I was not checking the cel codes properly (didn't have the circuit competed).

My car is showing CEL code number 22.

from c-speed:
VTEC Oil Pressure Switch defective circuit or unplugged / defective oil pressure switch
* invalid code for non-VTEC engine

Anyone know how to Trouble shoot this? Is it safe to drive the car normally?

Sounds like an oil line may have come look and you are losing pressure. Check under you car for any leaks after you drive and see if you can find it. I can't imagine you would have an electrical control problem unless it was defective from the start. Try looking for a loose hose though.

There is no Oil leaking anywhere. I think that the pressure switch may be broken or something. I called my dealer and they said it was fine to drive the car. I just wont rag on it.
