I am wondering if this is true or not. I heard that if swaping out the a3 for the a2 head on the ep3 that you cant turbo it. Can some one help me out because i am planing to do this swap and later turboing it.

 

why not just get an entire a2 engine if you're going to so much trouble already.

you can run anything with good tuning.

 

Lower compression of the A3 makes it a better candidate for turbo. DONT waste your money on a head or swap ... just turbo the a3.

 

If you swap for the a2 head, you'll have the lower compression of the a3 and the better flowing head of the a2. Is it worth it? Not in my opinion.

The a2 makes about 270whp at 7psi and the a3 makes that at 9psi. Instead of spending money on swapping the head, I'd get stronger pistons and rods.

Remember that the a3's pistons may be lower compression, but they also seem to be weaker than those of the a2.

 

You'll be much happier just turboing your A3. The gains you'll get by swapping on the A2 head will not be worth the money spent.

 

just do it i would say. if you have the money. having real vtec and having a low compression then what an k20a or a k20a2 would have. then be able to boost at higher psi. sounds good to me. but that will leave a hole in your pcoket
