b16 already has a pretty good gearing.

on HT, people refer to the y8 tranny as the tranny that came out of a d16y8 which is in a whole different ballpark. you do not want to go through the trouble of fabbing a adapter palte to downgrade your b16 tranny to a tranny from a sohc motor.

no, dosn't happen. unless you spend some $$$ to have a SOHC tranny for.....? lol You stay within the letter series. like a d16y7 or y8 is a D series...B16 is a B series....h22 or 23 is a H series....k20 ...k series....you don't move between the series...unless its like a throttle body or something...some people throw a B18 on a D sometimes...but not putting a d tranny on a B. dosn't happen like that...sorry buddy. the tranny you got that is a y8 came on the 96-00 honda civic ex's that came with a D16y8 SOHC VTEC motor in it. sorry buddy......
