97 GSR w/ 160k miles
I saw a ad on autotrader today for a white 97 gsr for $5,450 but the thing is its has 160k miles on it. What I was wondering is about how many more miles will it go until it starts giving me problems??

it can go as long as 300,000 as long as you dont' rev it hard or abuse...all type r and gsr, b16a,a2 are tend to get abuse from its owner...just like you'are abusing your stick whenever you feel like it...
but if you can oil change early and filter it should do good....160kmiles on 97 is average driver....

I personally have 281,200 mi. on my 94 GSR. If you take care of it, it'll show you its appreciation. I'm still on my original engine and tranny. Sure, compression is lower than it should be, but still fun to drive. If the owner looks like the type to be **** about their car, ****** it. If it looks like someone who thrashed daily, pass. 5,450 is somewhat of a deal considering what some want for theirs, but not that great to pass up.
i got my 96 GSR wit 106K miles for 6 grand...i love it. make sure it hasnt had the **** driven out of it..check the plugs if u can...see what they look like and if they have any signs of oil on them dont get it..good luck

It might still be good even if it was driven hard, as long as the owner kept up w/ the maintenance. I'm the 2nd owner of my car, orig. owner put 90K on it, and I have put another 90K on it in the past 3.5 years. It's still very quick, gets awesome gas mileage, and has NEVER broken down.
