Shift Knob Won't stop wobbling??? Easy fix info......
O.k. I am shure that most every one at one time or another has bought some shift **** other than what was supposed to go on there car. Usually, they are some kind of universal deal taht uses crappy plastic adapters and set screws. Wich eventually breack up the plastic and back out of there holes. So heres what I've come across after much experimenting to solve the problem
:
-You'll need thread lock and a couple different size vaccum hoses that can both be pick up at any local hared ware store or auto store.
-Take the **** off you shifter. Figure out wich hose is more like the the size the plastic adapter was before it got squashed by the set screws that srewed in through the side of the **** oround the bottom.
-Take out all the set screws. Push the hose down onto the shifter. Push the **** down over the shifter making shure the hose goes up into the **** and doesn't get pushed down below it.( If the hose is a hair to thick, cut it down but slicing long ways until you get a size that fits.)
-Once the **** is on and secured in place(you should have no play-or "jiggling"), take the lock thread and apply it sparringly to the sset screws as you re-install them one at a time. TIGHTEN THEM DOWN AFTER YOU HAVE THEM ALL IN. DO SO EVENLY SO YOUR **** ISN'T CROOKED.

LOL
My dad used to tell me, "if it doesn't move and it should, WD-40. if it does move and shouldn't, Duct Tape!" The only two tools you'll ever need!
Really though, that's not a bad idea. My GSR shift **** doesn't talk back though.

Another thing you might could try that I just thought up (read: it may not work, lol) but try using teflon tape on the threads, you use it to secure air hose connections to fill the gaps in the threads, it may help with the wobbling.
