I am wondering how much you would pay for a 00 ITR that "looks" good on the outside, however, you know the entire left side of the car (including both wheels, drivers door, all exterior body panels, antenna assembly, interior body panels, rear suspension) was replaced. The only noticeable damage is the body of the driver's side doorjamb. The stickers are all missing and you can tell it was painted. Any ideas?? This affects the worth of the car right??

Please help because I need solutions to a potential problem!! Thanks.

Of course it does, drastically. Does it have a salvage title? if the replacement parts are all OEM and the work is good you still have to knock off a considerable amount from the price.

 

no salvaged title. carfax came back as clean. but, i know all the work was done and exactly what parts where replaced. (all OEM except one wheel for some reason - although it does "appear" to be OEM)

 

Unless you are parting it out, why would you even want to get involved with this car? Unless you get it for a song ($12k or less), I would avoid it. If the frame was damaged (sounds likely) the car may never be quite right.

Interseting poiunts. But lets say the car isn't noticable damaged on first inspection by more than one person. And Drives straight so we will assume no frame damage.

Does that make a 2000 R worth only $12k? I have seen non repaired R's that were totaled go for $9k to salvage yards. I woudl think with a clean title, repaired that is is worth more than what one with a salvage title is.

ANy more $$ thoughts?

 

take it to an acura dealership and get an informed opinion. if they can't figure out how bad the frame is take it to a bodyshop u know who can.

 

hmm...so this gets me wondering what i could sell my ITR for. mines an R-title. JDM Front end conversion. 61000 miles. frame is straight as an arrow. drives perfect. everything works great cept i didn't put airbags back in it due to the fact i hate wheels with airbags, saves weight, and i don't want one blowing up in my face.

the damage was all in front of the shock towers on it. both frame rails were replaced, and the new JDM core support welded on. paint matches awesome, just need the sticker on the passenger side. ohh yeah... the best part...THE WING IS GONE!!! hehehe.

let me know what you guys think it could go for...

 

Jay I hope you aren't really sellin it but guys I must say that is an awesome car. I have seen it personally. Jay I thought you were keepin the wing? I think I am goin to get rid of mine in the spring when I get it painted...if I get it painted.

 

I'd rather buy an R with no motor, rather than an R that's been totaled.

 

mine is about the same as yours. it's a 98 i bought rebuilt in mid '00, jdm conversion done, 17" te37s, damage was limited to the the aprons in front of strut towers and passenger side frame rail, 1/3 your mileage. with trade of my old ls i paid $16k usd.

and yes mine has a wing
