omnipower vs tein basic
anybody have these setups on their ep3s or have any feedback? just looking for a good coilover system. its a daily driver and i dont plan on racing..just used for getting to school and work..the teins i found are 660 shipped which is making me lean that way.. but if the omni's are a lot better..ill wait a bit to shell out the cash..your comments are appreciated
can i add to the question, i want a coilover system, for the same reason, but add jersey roads into the mix, then, to finish the question, what coilover system is best for a decent ride quality?
I have Tein Basic for my EP3. It handles like ***** on high speed and corner, but it tends to get rough when you go over bumps and such. I think it's worth the handling, but that's entirely up to you.

I'm sitting here in the great room looking at the prototype of the revised Omnipower EP3 setup. The metal's not even painted.
It'll be a while before they go on the car, a few days, but I'd be happy to give more feedback at that time.
Initial comments:
(1)They are heavy. About as heavy as the Mugen SS. The lightest weight suspension I've ever seen for the EP3 is the OEM Honda.
(2)The shaft is thick. Looks really quite heavy duty compared to other systems. This is nice to see because I actually <u>bent</u> one of my Mugen SS in a NoVA pothole.
(3)It looks like there is probably more height adjustment possible on the front units than there is toe adjustment on the OEM tie rods.
We'll have to be careful and then come up with a recommended height setting that would allow you to set your toe correctly.
If you can hang in there a week or two, I have a feeling we'd be able to recommend these revised Omnipower EP3 coilovers. Just need to be absolutely sure of a couple of things.

You're not going to like this, but think about staying w/the OEM suspension if you're worried about rough riding on a daily driver.
A nice little handling improvement on the EP3 is to <u>either</u>:
(1)Get the Type S swaybars front and rear. The rear bar's thicker, and the front bar's thinner. The overall effect is allowing your car to rotate a little better.
(2)Keep the OEM USDM thick EP3 front bar and add the Honda DC5 ITR rear swaybar. Same attitude change as above, but with higher limits.
But if you're intersted in coilovers, we'll be able to report on the revised Omnipower in a few days.

the omni's for the dc5 have up to 3 degrees of camber adjustment, and they did somethin to eliminate bump steer. dunno if teins do the same
