I'm assuming the GE adapter is attached with a "hollow bolt" and the spin-on oil filter nipple is what you are trying to remove. And since you've tried pliers you aren't concerned about reusing it. A large "easy out" for removing broken bolts/studs can be used to remove the threaded nipple. Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim but, I pulled the IM and took some vise grips to it. Came out pretty easily that way. I just couldn't get leverage from underneath.
