yea, I also want to toss the D16A6 cam into my D15B
Is this a tricky install? I've never gone into an engine. Any special tools needed? Does it take some advanced knowledge?

there are tons of how tos here on HT and google.
my suggestion for both of you is to buy a Helms manual and follow the instructions. Its not very hard, but there are bolt removal orders and tq specs to help make sure you do it correctly the first time.
I've done a few...b series... and my first time was pretty shacky, but a had help. im comfortable on my own now, but those books do really help.

So you have a jdm D15B but you want to put a SI (D16Z6???) cam into it? Don't even do it...

You mean D15B7, correct? Then it's very simple.

some tips? well you have to lube the cams and the bearing covers and align the distributor and timing belt exactly how it was before you started working on it.
And the rest of the tools are pretty basic some of the tools you'll need are; a torque wrench, a 14mm wrench, and an 8mm wrench to take off the cam bearing covers.torque the cam bearing covers to manufactuarer's specs in your car manual.

If it is the JDM D15B, i.e. the 1.5 liter SOHC VTEC motor, than there is no need to put a Z6 cam in there as the cam that came with your D15B is by far the best SOHC cam that came out of the factory for making power.

morons. all JDM 1.5L SOHC d series engines are D15B. they have carbbed non VTEC D15b's etc. etc. etc.
he wants to put his d16a6 cam into his JDM NON VTEC D15B. Its a very easy swap. You basically take the valve cover off and you can see all the bolts that will need to be removed to remove the old cam. A service manual will help out alot as some have mentioned
