**The Official "What's the best engine for my Honda" thread...the Answers inside***
Question:
What's the BEST engine for my Honda?
Answer:
125cc Honda dirt bike motor. It weighs under 50lbs, revs to 10000rpms, and makes 320hp/liter.
There, now that we solved the question that is constantly on everyone's mind, let's talk about pizza.
Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!
If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.
Edited for the Whiners:
This is NOT a complete list, as there are mini-mes, LS-VTEC swaps, budget/poor man's ITRs, etc. Use the damn search button a bit more religiously.
What's the best engine for boost... the one that gets TUNED properly.
What's the best engine for drag racing... the one you spend the most money on making FAST.
What's the best engine for road racing... same thing.
What's the most reliable engine... the one you MAINTAIN religiously.
What's the cheapest engine... the one that's in your car.
There, hopefully when searched, this thread will pull up so people will stop making threads about stupid crap like "what's the difference between a GSR and a B18C5"...the oil caps.

its funny because even though you made this post.... most people don't search so we'll go over it again and again and again... and if they do learn to search they will most likely not see that you can search in the post body ...default is topic search....so they'll miss it again...and again...and again....

I seccond that 2 dead ZCs to my belt, and I would never do it, again. Z6 in my beater is much better, I beat the hell out of it daily not single problem, knock on wood. My Z6 I got for $150w/ a Y8 intake manifold and ECU. I had over 500 in each ZC, can't remember exactly, 5 years ago. Z6 89,000 miles each ZC was supposed to be less than 30,000.
Other than that good thread
, but you realize it ain't gonna do ****. Noobs are still gonna make post without even looking at anything, or attempting to search.

great, some guy advertising one offs. loverly.
by the way, the prices I listed were random numbers with some hope that the person installing the engine at least REPLACES some things, like the clutch, dist cap/rotor, plugs, etc.
and I ignored LS/VTEC cause it's about as reliable as a Rotary in heat. yeah, it'll last for awhile and there are a few that run forever, but, typically, they break far sooner than others.
