I was sitting at idle and all of a sudden steam went everywhere. come to find out radiator has a six inch crack in it. bought a pwr aluminum radiator to go back in it. Would the b16 that i have on the origional 97 hx radiator have an effect on it?

 

No, you just didnt realise your radiator was cracked. Who knows how long it was like that. I hit a possum with my hatch one night. Within 4 minutes my temp went to H for no reason. I added water and drove home. The next day I had a puddle under my car, and unexplained fur in the grill. From the impact (45 mph) and point of impact (radiator) I cracked mine. Its easy to damage since Honda uses plastic radiators.

ive been w/ acura for 4 yrs now...
ive seen alot of teg's w/ blown up rads -- with splits right near the filler neck on the "weld" on the long part... damn rad is like 500ish.... btw- alot of RL's too... not to many tl,cl, or mdx's
