Default Electrical Gurus. Wire Harness Completely Hacked Just Before ECU. HELP

Well my car was recently vadalised

https://honda-tech.com/zeropost...15141

Well I got the car towed back to me this evening just before work.

The sugar was no problem, wasnt to pissed I guess after I was assured it could be fixed.

But I saw the carpet had been pulled up and my main wire harness had been cut probably 3 inches before me ECU!!!!!!

They cut all 3 clumps of wires cleanly, now seriously,... who that ******* sick, just unclip the ecu ********.

Now is this fixable? My battery was still coneccted when this happenned so I dont know if that meeses anything up.

But what I wanna know is can I just go find another Honda, cut that harness off and wire it all back together. Like is every wire different and has its own color in the loom or is it impossible to tell. Like I suck at wiring.

Or is there a way I can disconnect the haress somewhere else and just replace it with one from another Honda. now I dont wanna go pulling wires of the dash and cluster and all that **** because I will **** it up.

Let me know

Also what type of Honda would it have to be?

My car - 88 Crx Si (origianally from canada if it matters), d16a6, OBD0

Thanks

And yes- IM ******* MAD

Just go to the junkyard and cut off the section they cut off from an 88/89 Si.

You may be able to use 88-89 Si but I think there were wiring changes starting in the '90 year.

Very simple, just time consuming. Just get a lot of heat shrink tubing and solder it back up.

Or you can just replace the whole harness out of another car if you don't feel like doing the wiring. It'll be a lot more involved though.

You can probably do the wiring in about 25 minutes if you know how to solder.

Bump it for what? I already told you what to do.

I don't understand why people bump certain things

And yes, wisdom teeth suck. I got all 4 of mine pulled at the same time

It might be easier Just to replace the whole harness. Not to mention you wont have any electrical problems. I know i would feel better with a new harness. One less problem Later on down the road.

Well, you're right.

It will be difficult considering you've got an OBDI d16a6.

I'd hate to try to rewire that ECU!

I'm not trying to be mean, but you really have no use bumping this still.

Cut off the ECU wires from a junkyard car and solder them to what's remaining in your harness.

Even if some of the wire colors are different, the pin locations are the same so it does not matter.

Its True man you have 2 options. Cut and resolder or get a new dash harness. Theres no reason to bump the thread any more.

Tell you what. I'm going to make it as easy as humanly possible.

Go look at the junkyards until you find an '88 Crx Si.

Cut off the ECU harness and then solder into yours. All the colors will match, and you'll have no worries at all.

I'm 99% sure that the 88/89 Si used the exact same harness and pin locations. Maybe one of the CRX guys will chime and say for certain.

You're stressing over an issue that is actually pretty simple.

This would be very Similar to a MPFI swap. Hell And that was easy. Really it cant get any more fucked up. Just go to the jukyard and cut on off. and wire that **** up. The more time you spend bumping this **** the more down time you have on youre car.

I always check in on threads I've replied to should there be more questions.

But when something has been answered and I just read 'bump' 'bump' over and over I'm mainly curious as to why.
