Default burning out

i have a crx w/ b16 and i tried to do a 2nd gear burnout but nothing happened; it just bogged.
This is what i did: 1. pulled the e-brake
2. revved to 45k and theneven tried 5k
3. dropped the clutch and nothing
What could be the problem; do i not have enough power or do i need to rev higher?

Maybe he used 2nd gear to hit mad tizzite vtec y0 for extra tire/clutch melting power.

Just decided to give a try since i saw someone do it before. Looks like i'll stick to the 1st gear burnouts.

You must not pay for your tires.

i thought second gear burnouts were supposed to conserve your spider gears or something that are associated with first gear. i heard about this in the drag racing forum a little while ago. someone post up some REAL info...

At the track, I do my burn-outs in 2nd gear. I rev it up to about 6500~7K and just dump the clutch. I've been told that doing the burn-out in second gear isn't as harsh on the tranny as doing it in first. I've also noticed that it doesn't take as long to get the slicks heated up as it would in first. Dump the clutch, a few seconds of burn-out and the slicks start grabbing and pulling you forward.
