Default 5 bolt conversion

I am interested in how this is done also. From looking at some diagrams, it does not look to hard to possibly convert over to a 5 lug setup.

I think you need the whole deal, trailing arms, hubs, knuckles, rotors, calipers, ect.

Comptechgsr on this board has it on his ss blue dc. Looks sweet also better braking, but fastbrakes has a kit for the 4 lug if you just want the performane aspect.

how much is the fastbrakes kit? If i were to get an ITR 5-lug conversion, would i have to change out my shocks/springs etc? i already have my car lowered...

Don't do it your car looks fine. Try to get headers and an exhaust before doing a 5lug conversion.

FWIW, I think its not worth the money. is the reason to get a specific sets of rims?
if so, dont even. I'll get other mods if I were you.

How exactly would it help braking. I thought the point to haveing more lugs is to better hold the torque that passes from the driveline to the wheels, so as not to rip the wheel in half.

Hmmm bigger rotors. Just get a big brake conversion. Less hassle. Unless you're seriously drag racing and have mad torque the 4 lugs should hold good right?

correct me if i'm wrong...bigger rotors=more rotating mass...for the amount you'll pay you might lose some power to the wheels...right? kinda like paying for heavier rims?? i believe it's mugen or spoon or someone who makes lightweight rotors or something for drag applications...

is it just me or do people actually think that people put 5-lugs on their car for looks? that would just be stupidity... the type-r brakes are far better than the gsr brakes are... i'v had both and in reality... the gsr brakes really do suck compared to the itr brakes

Default Question...

What are 100-0 or 60-0 stopping times for a GS-R and a Type-R? How much of a difference is there between the two? How much better is the stopping like you claim? I understand that brake fade is probably another story though since the Type-R's brakes are made for track use.

i happen to think the 2000ish gunmetal r-rims look great. however im sure the fasrbrakes itr conversion will give you equivelant braking if all your looking for is stopping power. if it was me i would just get the willwood fastbrakes cause its really not worth the hassle to find the parts you need and then to have to pay for them for the conversion.

don't look at stopping feet numbers. Yes the ITR stops in a shorter distance, but the great thing about them is that they don't fade, as where the GSR brakes, they fade after a few laps of use
