Could I reverse the heater/air fan to suck through the vents instead?
Hey, I've never had the heater core out of my car so I'm not sure if this is even possible based on the design on it, but if I reverse the fan wires so that it will suck air through the vents instead of blow, could this work? If so I'll just wire up a relay so it can suck and blow via a switch, but I'm just wondering if anyone has done this or heard of anybody doing it? Thanks!
I'm not too sure if it will work. I mean the current in the car is alot, in terms of amperage, so you gotta be careful. Since the car is direct current, switching the polarity should work, according to the books. Then again, I'm thinking it may, just gotta be really careful with this huge amount of amps. Hopefully someone out there will post and comfirm my opinion

No, you can make the motor run backwards but it wont blow backwards.

You'll only reduce cfms (unit to measure airflow=cubic ft per min)if you switch polarity. Direction of airflow won't change.
If you want to reverse airflow you have to flip the blower wheel and change polarity.
What's the benefit of this?

Actually, it would blow backward if you reverse the polarity. But chances are it won;t move as much air since the fan was designed to blow foreward.

I dont think so. It uses a squirel cage fan. The air enters the center and is slung out to the outside. changing the direction of the fan isn't going to change this.
