Default Air Conditioning doesn't work when in direct sunlight....

If anyone can help me, i have a problem with my a/c. I just had the evaporator, condensor, and receiver/dryer changed out on my 94 civic and recharged at a shop. everything works fine but if my car sits in direct sunlight when it get really hot outside my a/c won't work. Is there some kind of temp. switch under the dash besides the evaporator temp. switch?

well your pulley could be bad if it slips bakc and forth, check for loose tension or whether it moves side to side a little - plus, a/c shouldn't be run in a sitting car either

what answer? the a/c works fine when under shade on hot days and then driving, at night it works fine and in the morning. only time it don't work is when my car is under the sun for long periods of time.

Then obviously the shop did not properly charge the system. If the clutch wont engage in the heat then your hot line pressure is getting high and auto turns off the compressor to prevent damage. If the fan NEVER comes on then you eithre need a new fan or a new switch.

Also, Any half *** charged system will blow cold when its cold outside. Tell them to fix that **** or your money back.

Read my thread on how to charge and a/c yourself
