Vision seat bracket for SPG
I tried searching with limited luck, I was wondering where can I find one for sale, new or used, it doesn't matter. Would also appreciate it if 'those in the know' can throw out some opinions on other available lower than stock seat rails for the Recaro SPG. TIA
Yup I've always been looking for the part# of it too. I have a Buddy Club setup myself to go with the SPG. But the lowest setting at the back is simply useless coz the horizontal bar at the bottom doesn't allow my seat to go that low.
On the other hand my friend's Vision rails have the perfect height for myself. But he doesn't know the part# of it.
Mine is an 00' EM1 btw...would anyone of u guys know?

besides them being expensive, the mugen s1 rails bolt up perfectly to the recaro spg.
the mugen rails have (if i remember correctly) two (2) height settings. the one drawback is that you can only use the upper mounting holes with the recaro. however, it is much lower than the stock oem seat height. perfect for me being a somewhat little guy.
i think it would suit even taller dudes as well.
unfortunately, my camera doesn't work right now. if i have access to one, i'll try to post some pictures up.

As far as I know, Vision does not make use of part numbers. I have their catalogue and I don't see no part numbers. All you need is the part and the model of your car.
You should consider getting Bride rails over Vision. Bride has a new series of rails called "FX". They will fit your SPGs and you can go extremely low with these rails, probably lowest out of all available seat rails. The bonus part is that Bride got them FIA-approved...I am not sure if that makes a difference.
Anyway, since spoonek4 asked for part number, here goes:
Civic EK
- Right side - H033FX
- Left side - H034FX

Well that about just ruined my day....Are you able to confirm what exactly interferes with the Mugen/SPG combo?
I tried to use the Mugen S1s with my Recaro Racer but found the base of the seat too wide.... It was impossible to get the seat to sit any lower because the sliding mechanism would be completely in the way....
Is this the same issue with the SPG?

i wanna just clarify that i have the recaro "profi" spg. if i read you right, you have the recaro "racer" spg. just wanna clarify that.
the "profi" will only fit the upper holes on the mugen rails due to the "triangular" nature of the bucket. it tapers wide, so when you try to align the seat holes with the lower mugen holes, it pushes the rails wide and it won't bolt up flush.
if the "racer" bucket/shell is identical to the "profi", then but all means, it will work with only the upper mugen holes. but, i'm not sure what you mean by the sliding mechanism getting in the way. :shrugs:
as for my height, let's just say i'm 5'5" on a good day, 5'4" on others.

Forgot to mention that I was considering buying another Profi SPG....
But the issue still stems from the fact that Recaros (I've found between these two models anyway) tend to flair out ...meaning the base of the seat is wider than the top (triangular if looked at from the back)
If you try and put the seat in the lowest position, it will not physically fit, because the sliding mechanism - contraption on the rail that enables you to go fore/aft will touch/hit the bottom of the seat.
There's no way that I currently see to be able to use the lowest position due to this....but for some odd reason, the Spoon buckets which are also quite wide, apparently DO fit in the lowest position....I was only able to confirm they fit on the high position on the front and low position in the back.
I think some ghetto rigging is necessary to make Recaros fit with S1 rails..... I'm a solid 5'10 and my helmet hits my cage..... so back to the spending spree.....

ah i see. that is probably the main reason why you can't use the lower holes. if remember right, i thought that the seat gets more narrow towards the base of the bucket?
oh well, good luck with getting them to work.

Every side mount bracket similar to the pic above (e.g. Recaro, Sparco) still don't get the seat low enough (at least for me) when used with sliders. BTW, I'm 6' tall.
