speedometer making weird noise?
Well I replaced my speedo cable sometime in May, but recently I been hearing a weird noise like something is loose or needs some lube in my gauge cluster. It only occurs during acceleration above 40 mph and eventually stops when the gas is steady. If anyone had this problem before please inform me what you did to stop this or if you have any tips how i can fix this i will be very grateful.
I already tried to lube up where the cable goes into the cluster, but didn't help at all...I think its something inside the gauge cluster.

i just got my car back together and my speedo/gauge cluster makes a noise now (havnt noticed it till now cuz i had no speedo). i have no idea where its coming from nor how to fix it.

Not a lot of people seemed to have this problem and I was too lazy to post again
.
Anyways, the gauge cluster isn't the source of the problem. I decided to drive around without the gauge cluster and I pin pointed that the speedo cable itself is making the weird noise. The first thing I decided to do was to remove the inner cable. I took some high temp bearing grease and lubed it. Reinstalled the inner cable and took the car out for a spin w/o the gauge cluster on. This cured the problem for about a week.
The noise came back but isn't as noticeable as it used to be. I believe that the position of the cable could be a problem. The speedo cable mounted in the factory locations has a S shape bend to it. I will try to reposition the cable again and see if this will solve the problem permanently.
If you don't see a response in awhile you know why.

. It's quite annoying, I'll try moving the inner cable around.
