Idle problem
my integra idles reallly high when i start it up and then goes back down... then goes back up then goes back down, it does this for about 5 minutes until the engine warms up... it revs to about 3k and back down to about 1k.. does any one know what this problem is or have had this problem before....
i have heard it could be the idle air control valve... but i have taken that off and cleaned it thoroughly(spelling?) i also heard it could be vacume lines but i figured it would never go away if it was vacume lines.. so if anyone has had this problem before and know how to fix it please help me......thanks

I would still advise you to check it. Sometimes it could be more than one thing that would cause it. We should just try to eliminate the possibilities. Also, the idle control valve could be an issue.
i just brought my integra to the mechanic for this problem. hes ordering the part but i forgot what it was called. i'll let you know when it comes in. and he said this is not a major problem and its not something you must fix.

i read something about taking my intake off and covering the holes in the throttle body... and it ran perfect.. no idle prob.. but when i took my fingers off the holes it went back to idleing high... this is the tps sensor right? can i just buy a new tps sensor or do i need to buy a whole new throttle body... and i read about bypassing the tps sensor with jb weld... anyone know if that will work.

. At idle, it should be at 40-50psi vacuum. At WOT it shoudl go down to 0
