'99 LX Stalling at Idle
I have a stalling problem with my 1999 Honda Accord LX with 4 cylinder engine. It happens at idle waiting for a light, or traveling slowly with no throttle applied. The LCD mileage display goes blank and it takes a minute or so to get it started again. Once going, it is fine until the next episode, which may be minutes or days away. Idles fine otherwise. I have checked connections to no avail. Any ideas?
I would suspect the keyswitch is opening the ignition power supply. You might try wiggling the switch to see if that makes the problem arise or solves the problem when you have a no-start. If you have no CEL or ALT light when this happens, this would tend to confirm ignition switch. The CEL and ALT light should appear when engine dies, if the ignition is supply power to ignition.
I've heard that using a heavy key ring w/ lots of keys "hanging" on the ignition key can cause this problem.
good luck
