Default Where do I hook up the water temp gauge ???

I have a 2000 Accord and have no idea where to hook up the temp gauge. If I hook it up through the wiring harness on the cluster, the needle bounces. Where do I run it? I have a green, black and red wire coming out from the gauge.

What sort of gauge is it? Mechanical or electronic...either way you should also have got a sensor to plug into either the top of the radiator hose (using a T-piece) or some of the water channels in the head.

It is a Ractive blue carbon fiber gauge and it is mechanical. There was nothing else that came with it. Just the gauge with the wires.

Your missing the sensor that plugs into the block or water pipe...you cannot just hook the wires up to the back of the temp gauge or ECU. Send it back and get one with the proper parts for hooking it up.

the black wire will be for Earth, red for 12v and the green more than likely for to hook into your lights so as the gauge lights up when you switch on your main lights.

There are seperate wires for the light on the gauge. I was told that the green wire is for the needle itself. I hooked it up to the harness and it read but it bounced up and down. Why would it bounce? It also caused the temp needle on my cluster to go dead as well. Why?

That is the same gauge and it is a electric not a mechanical gauge.

Here is a description on hooking up the gauge. I am assuming that they are showing the thermostat. Am I correct ?

That diagram is pretty pathetic but i would imagine that the wire (green) hooks up to a sensor that you didnt get. I have never heard of electronic (or mechanical) that didnt come with a sensor...you need to contact who ever you bought it from and get them either to send you the sensor or send you a complete kit...your definitely missing the sensor!
