How much did you guys pay for your full roll cage?
I was just wondering what the average price one pays to have a custom 6-point NASA/SCCA legal roll cage welded in. Tubing and labor both.
...if you don't mind me asking that is.
Thanks.

Prices vary by region, but I'd expect $2000$2500 for a full price cage by a well known fabrication shop. You might get one for less from a smaller shop, particularly one that does mostly roundy-round and dirt track stuff.
Standard pricing for the one I got done is reportedly $1800 or so.
It's possible to spend way more than that, especially the H1 guys with the unlimited attachment points and such.
Hey CorteZ, where you at? You guys were doing some pretty innovative stuff.

$1200
I think he charges a little more now ($1400) with the cost of materials going up.

I believe I paid $11-1200 for the one pictured here:

I paid $1,000 for a custom 6 point to my very definitive spec. a few years ago. This is well under the going rate but it was done by some brothers who moonlight building dirt track modified cars and doing welding fabrication and cages on the side. Turn around is not really very timely but they have done half a dozen or more very nice cages for my friends and I (several IT cars, Spec Pinata. etc.) at an amazing price. This was done prior to the recent steel price increases.
My trailer is there now getting a custom took and storage box built.

It really depends on who does it. $1500-$2000 seems standard by road race cage builders for a 6pt with Nascar bars. Also depends on if it is done "on the side" or from a shop. I had mine done at a shop and paid about $1800, it was completed in about 2 weeks total. I've heard of people waiting 3+ months to get theirs done.
BTW: Stripping the interior yourself will help with pricing.

i lucked out and had a local dirt track guy make mine for my S2000.....he had some basic designs that I gave him from EFFECT's pics of his cage...... anyway... he was only going to charge me $780.00 total for a fully welded in 6 point cage with nascar bars on the drivers side...... i ended up giving him $900.00 because i felt bad at just $780.
I got very lucky..... but if anyone is near Hanover, PA i can give you his name.

I know you are checking for average prices but please please please, let the price not be your main decision. The cage is one of the most important "safety" investments. So, go to a reputable place/builder and see first hand their workmanship.

yeah, it was somebody who did it "on the side," for me down about 20 min south of the cities. i'm sure they'll charge more now. i don't remember the guys' names, but the guy who did it worked for Archer Racing previously.
they called themselves Custom Cage and Chassis - phone number was 651.450.1499 about a year and a half ago when it was done. i have no idea if they're still doing it.
