Differences JDM Type R motor vs USDM Type R motor - How to identify Type R motor?
Exactly what the title says...I know of the following:
- LSD
- 2.5" collector of header
- red valve cover
- PR3 on head
- P73 on distributor
- bronze shift linkage
- dual valve spring
- JDM - B18C vs B18C5 - USDM
Anything else?
How can I identify the ITR cams?

All he asked were the differences, to be able to distinguish one from the other ... he not in one way, hyped up "JDM" like alot of people do ... don't post on here if you're not going contribute in any USEFUL way

Looks like you covered it man, but both USDM and JDM have red valve covers. But the JDM and USDM have different sized letters on DOHC and VTEC.
Also, most JDM type R motors will have a green stripe of paint on the back side of the distributor.
i thought that the b18c was a jdm gsr motor from my understanding and knowledge the tag on the motor should say b18c6 0r 7 if its a jdm that comes with 5 more horse power than the usdm

The JDM equivelant to the GSR and Type R both come with B18C stamped on the block, so it refers to both of them. In Japan, after the the last letter, i.e. b16a, b16b, b18c, there is no number like we have on the b16a2, b18c1 and b18c5

Good point. In fact, there is just a closed-off hole where the VTEC switch would be screwed in.

The JDM ITR motor had a 4.785 final drive. I don't remember if it got it for every year of the motor or only certain years came with that final drive.
