H22 swap
My son's 95 Accord 2 door was just wrecked by some careless driver, it's trashed but the engine and trans are still good. It's an H22 with a brand new Clutch Masters stage 4 and aluminum flywheel. Unfortunately it didn't last a day after the clutch installation before it was wrecked. We need to score a new body for the drivetrain and I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions on what would be a good model Honda to use and where we might go about getting it. Keep in mind we're looking for cheap here because I know the swap is going to be pricey.

Good advice
Definately look for an EX model so you get features like 4 wheel disk brakes and ABS.

yeah 90-93 accord are cheapest, then 94-97, or you can be pimp and put it in a 98-02 accord, not to many of those around with h22's.
or put it in 92-95 thats what i would do if i had to drop in another motor in my hatch, good ole b16.

As stated, a 4th gen accord would be the cheapest.
I got an H22 in my 6th gen accord, and I'm certainly not a pimp, or it doesn't really make it any nicer than any other generation accord. Actually the 4th gen with a H22 is the pimpest
because that would be a true sleeper.
Someone asked if the H22 can go into a hatch, and it sure can but you need to get mounts, unless you want to fabricate them yourself and some other stuff, but it has been done. The nice part about H22 in 4th - 6th gen accords is that it is basically a complete drop in.

yeah, it will require custom mounts...and get ready to say goodbye to any engine bay space. only bad part about the h22 in a crx is a heavy *** motor in the front of a light car. itll make turning fun, but on a drag strip...you can beat that with a rubber hose
Custom mounts wouldn't b a problem, I'll be taking anything salvagable off the accord. Everything supposedly has to be re wired for the swap. My son has his eye on a 98 hatchback 5 speed but that's going to need a new short shifter because I understand the one in the accord body wont swap. I think we're going to pull the engine ourselves as soon as insurance looks at the car. We need the settlement money for the new body. Stay tuned, this is going to b complicated.

do something different, i say go with a db integra, (90-93) i have yet to see an h22 in one those, plus no one ever expects an old school integra to run anything respectable. just my two cents, id love to see some honda tech love for the OG integra
4gen is a nice option. Everything else is doable, and has been done. For mounts and complete swap ideas check out the hybrid forum. between hasport and place racing, you have almost every chassis mount.
I would put it in a hatch for speed, a 4 gen accord for ease, a prelude for ride quality.
Nothing is original anymore. DBtegs... seen it....
