Temp gauge not moving?
I took my car out for the first time in 11months and everything is solid and feels good. Just the temp gauge isnt moving up.
I had the car completely gutted when i did everything. So something probably got damged.
Where should i start checking? Where is the sensor, is there a way to test the sensor with a voltmeter? What readings Should i be getting.
Thanks! The car never overheated before, just for peace of mind.

From: With my POS D15B2, Whereever whenever, United States
there is a wire that runs to the ecu and a sensor on one of the coolant pipes
make sure its probably just a loose wire or something like that

below the distributor there, theres a 1 wire sensor that i have read is the coolant temp sensor.
The wire is rotted off, it is not hooked up. Could this be my reason?
Im was not getting anycodes. Maybe the car just thought it was always cold, explains why my fan never came one.
Lucky i only drove around the block a few times.

The sensor under the distributor controls the temp gauge in the car. The one on the back of the block controls the fan coming on. Check the one on the back too.

thermoswitch on back of block has 2 wires. there are bullet type connections. You'll need to pull back the rubber boot probably to check 'em

Check the fuse first, no sense of going threw the hassle of tring to find a problem in the wiring. If its not the fuse, I would just pull out the old wiring and rewire it, probably be a lot quicker.

The sensor below the dizzy isnt even wired up.
I might just put the fan on a manual switch.. and get an aftermarket gauge if i cant figure it out.

My fan isnt comming on..
Which totally sucks. Paying 449 a month for insurance cant even drive the thing.
My upper rad hose is hot, my lower is cold. Means my thermostat hasnt opened yet?
I can grab a hold of the upper rad hose and hold it, its not hot enough that i have to let go. Is the car still warming up? Because i thought coolant gets to like over boiling temp.
Thanks~!
