where to get low temp thermostat and fan switch
yes i did a search - only one article came up w/ some part numbers...
is there anywhere online i can get a low temp thermostat and fan switch for my 89 civic si h/b?? winter is coming up, and since im a new owner to the car i figured id flush and fill my coolant to be on the safe side, and while at it change my thermostat and fan switch - only these don't seem to be that easy to find... anyone?
also - kinda stupid question, but whats the benefit of getting a spoon rad cap? ive been driving vw's and dsm's for the last 5 years and we never had problems w/ that - and last time i did own a honda (circa 1996, a 91 si h/b) there wern't even 1/10th the parts out now for them

Both Spoon and Mugen make the low temp thermostats and fan switches. You can try Options Auto Salon or eBay for these parts.

Benefits are, you get the little spoon sticker. Don't waste your money. And let me get this straight, you want a low temp thermostat so your car heats up faster ? That will actually slow the heating up process down, stick with the stock thermostat.

i know what they do... im not a n00b to cars - i never said i wanted it to heat up faster... i just said winter was coming and i figured id flush my coolant and change the thermostat and fan switch while at it

True to a point, an engine that takes longer to get to operating temps is not good also. If your engine is running the correct temp to began with there is no reason to lower it. I'm not gonna start a debate about why which one is better since you said your not a noob.

a low temp thermostat does not affect how long it will take a car to warm up....it will simply regulate the temp lower when the car does get warmed up..
Spoon Rad caps are set to release at a higher pressure then stock..

Depends on how low the thermostat temp is.
