i have a 94 del sol si with a b16a swap and recently have been having some problems with it. first off i've notice a significant lose in power mid way through gears. it has good low end power and good top end power, but mid range is pretty crappy. it's almost like it's kinda sluggish from 3 1/2 to when vtec opens. i'm thinking this might be with my plug wires and distributor cap and rotor button. or possibly from and old fuel filter. to make matters worse, someone told me today that my car sounded as if my main baring might be going bad. is there anyway to tell for sure that the main baring is about to go, or does it just go all at once. any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated.

 

it has nothing to do with your main bearings. If they go bad, you'll know definately. Your problem just sounds like it needs a tuneup. If your motor sound kind of noisy, you might need to adjust the valves.
