Last night I purchased a set of 5.25" Kappa component speakers, and 6.5" Kappa rears for my Integra. I have an older Xplod Sony headunit that I'm going to keep.
Will this setup really be that much better than stock? A little better, I'm sure, but a lot? I simply want very clear and crisp highs (for trance/techno stuff). My friend works at the Wiz and I got everything for $130.
I also have to buy Christmas gifts....so I might return these if people say it's not that good. Keep in mind, I have stock component speakers now and they're pretty darn good.
Okie, thanks guys.

if your giving them solid amp power then yes for sure
i thought you were going to be asking if they were that much better than the reference series
stock speakers are pretty trashy
the kappa components will probably want around 100 watts of clean power
probably around 75 for the rears. with that they should blow away your stockers
oh and
to techno/trance i was jammin to some dj tiesto this morning. dope driving music.
btw im looking to get some infinity ref. series comps and coaxials in the next month or 2. you and your friend wanna hook me up??

They will be ]b]WAY[/b] better than stock. But a better deck would make them sound nicer, too. I reccommend ///Alpine.

kappas are pretty nice...i had some 2 ways for a while before i had my boston pro's....i'm just pissed i got my 3 way bostons for the same price i paid for the kappas....damn kappas i paid full price for.
i got some kappas for dirt cheap and i absolutly love them. they sound like crap without the amp, but when you juice them they are soooo nice. i have a alpine amp for the infinities, and also have a planet audio 10" with a hi-phonics amp and its not too loud, but perfect for jungle and breaks. plus, the whole amp rack and box can come out in about 5 minutes when its go time
I have an Alpine deck and i love the thing........thats one of the only decks that i will buy. And like every one else said, if you get some constant amp power they will be 10 times better then stock. The highs will be cleaner, and the lows will have a little more hit to them. Nice job on the selection

Thanks for the replies guys. I tried putting in the 5.25" components in the front last night, but turns out that my fronts are 6.5 or something. Hmph. I guess I should have known that.
Well, looks like from the reponses that if I don't have an amp or a good headunit, the Kappas won't be THAT much better. I'll probably end up returning them.
BTW, is there a way to fit 5.25" speakers in the front? It's probably an easy question for you car audio guys, but I never browse this forum. Would you recommend going smaller in the front over stock? Thanks.

I got 2 pairs of 6.5"kappas and also a 10" kappa perfect sub for christmas from my wife. It pays to have a wife that likes car stuff too. It also nice that she works at Harman Kardon, Harman also owns infinity and jbl. Kinda cool huh! MERRY CHRISTMAS H-TECH MEMBERS.
