Default a good swap for my 92 civic lx

i was thinking of getting a d16z6 for and adding some bolt on's. just woudering of anything else that might be better.

On a budget, it's a good swap. If you can, you might try to pick up a JDM D15B- they're a SOHC VTEC motor, with similar numbers to the D16Z6. Or a ZC motor might be a good bet. It's just up to you, what you intend for the vehicle (drag, autox, etc), what's your budget, and access to a reputable shop for your needs.

That is a nice swap if you just want some extra ooomph. And it is fairly cheap, so you can rebuild it better and replace the wear-out parts(ie timing belt, water pump, fuel pump, pistons, new rods, etc.) all for a relativley good price. If you are looking for good whp numbers and looking to spend money i would go with a b18c or a b series motor. They put out good numbers off the line and with some bolt ons you could be in the 200hp range. It is all up to you.

Do some searches, figure out what you are looking to spend then figure out options,

i was thinking of a b series but really wasnt sure of needing a kit for the install
