High pitch beep/ringing noise at idle?
has anyone else experienced this? There is no sound until the car is warm. once its warm, the noise is always on. It isnt very loud from inside the car, but from the outside, you can clearly hear it. any help appreciated. thanks!
I had a high pitched whistle from my last teg at idle after a rebuild, i brought it back to the shop and the guy said it was just the idle was set too low, he screwed it up a tiny bit (not even noticeable on the tach) and the noise disappeared :-)
But it could also be the alternator or power steering pump...

i highly doubt that because the dude said it can be heard from outside. anyway, when i got my car back from the shop, it was whistling when the car warmed up and whenever i turned right. it may be the power steering pump as mentioned earlier.
