'91 CRX track car build-up questions
I'm about to purchase a '91 CRX HF to convert into a weekend track beast. I want this to be a budget project, so I'm looking to use a lot of used OE components if possible.
Brakes: I want to upgrade the braking. Will a full GSR brake set (f & r) mount to the car with minimal fuss? What specific parts would be needed for the conversion? If not, what options do I have?
Suspension: I'm thinking of using Tokico Illuminas. Figure they are pretty cheap and offer some adjustability. Springs rates are yet to be determined. Any other options?
Motor: A SOHC conversion will be cheap and easy. What about LSD & FD options for the tranny? Anything out there?
Thanks for the help.

What class are you trying to go for??
Because as soon as you crack open the block, or swap anything out, you can forget about the classes the regular HF would be allowed in .......

FYI, a lot of people looking to track their cars buy an 88 or 89 CRX as the seat belt attachment point is on the door for 90 and 91 CRXs.
88 CRX HF would probably be the lightest stock chassis you can find.
...someone correct me if I am wrong.

I don't care about classes as this car will be for driving schools predominantly. Just want something to drive other than my daily. This car is in great shape and only costing me $1G.
Don't care about the OE seat belt attachment point since I plan for it to have a full cage and 5 pt harness set-up.
Ed ~ great link...thanks!

and the seatbelts are on the doors in all 89-91 the 88 is the only one to escape this horrible design element....
for the brakes any 90-93 integra fronts and rears will work, i think you just have to get the 89-91 SI or EX hubs to run a SI or EX sohc motor i recomend it, b/c the hf's motor is a dog, also suspension you can use a SI roll bar in the front and a aftermarket in the rear and tokico or kyb adjustables are fine, id run H&R race springs. also get a SI tranny cause the gearing on the hf really bites....
have fun with the new rex
