gsr differential in a ls tranny?????
Last weekend, I broke my stock ls differential and i found a gsr one my friend sold me for $20 and i have talked to a couple people about what else i need and they tell me i need a gsr final drive, b16a ring gear, and gsr countershaft. I was wondering if this is correct and where and how much these can be found. My whole week has been shitty and i need some good news. Thanks fellas.

I don't think that last part is right. When you install a itr lsd in a b16 tranny all you need is the itr or gsr ring gear. Not the gsr or itr counter shaft and if you say the b16 and ls differentials are the same then all you need is a gsr or itr ring gear.

gsr has a 4.4 final drive so u must swap the countershaft for a 4.4 countershaft ls has 4.266 itr/gsr have diffrent bolt patterns then ls/b16 so the ring gears from a ls/b16 will not fit on gsr/itr diff.

That cleared it up. Bolt patterns are the same for the ls/b16 but the final drive is different. The ls is 4.266 and the b16 is 4.4.

hey guys, i thought my problems were over but i got ripped on the gsr differential and i was gonna make a trip to honda and ask about a b16 differential cuz you guys said the ls and b16 diffs are the same. if i got the b16 diff then would i need the ring gear and that final drive too or can i get the same thing. and fyi my local acura dealer doesnt carry any ls diffs thanks guys
Did you get the gsr ring gear and countershaft? If so I would just get a ctr/itr lsd because a different from the dealer is going to be well over $350. Btw, I have one for sale.

that sucks, a new fd ring gear would be to expensive. just buy it used, i'll check my garage to see if i have one!
