Skunk2 coilovers on tokico shocks. DO I NEED CAMBERS WITH 2inch drop??suspension installation. urgen
Hey there i have a stock 92 hatch that i want to lower. I can get skunk2 coilovers with tokico shocks for 450, the only thing is its 200$ labor to put them on and then people are telling me that i am goin to need a camber kit or else my tires will get mseed up pretty bad. now im only looking to do around a 1.8-2 inch drop because coilovers are adjustable i can choose what drop i would like. I am going to be rockin the 13inch steelies for a while but i dont care about camber wear on them. Will it be noticeable meaning if i look at my car will the bottom of the tire be off the ground? thats a lot of negative camber and i dont want that to happen. i mean worst comes to worse i can jus rotate the tires however, so i really need a camber kit for onle 2 inch drop. please let me know. Also is it worth while for me to install my own suspension?? how hard is it really . 4 bolts??so i need a shock compressor??
im dropped 2 in front and 2.2 ish in back. I have around -1.5-2 negative camber in the back and a little in the front. Just get an alignment to correct your toe. Even though my tires are like / \ , camber isnt the problem.

$200 is a lot for labor. if u're riding on tokico blue's those beats are gonna blow up on skunk2 coilovers. i'd suggest getting better shocks IMO koni yellows or the tokico illuminas
$200 is way a lot of labor. im gettin the same set up as you. tokico blues with skunk2 coilovers. but im buyin it used from someone for $275. im about to install it myself and i consider you do the same. that $200 can be used for other upgrades.
I needed one, I got the toe adjusted and it seemed okay, but it started eating the inside edge off of my tires after a month or two. It's not too hard to do yourself, just get the spring compressors that have the u-bolts that you can bolt them to your spring. I used to use the ones with the hooks until one day a spring off of a BMW 735 popped out and hit me in the leg, bounced off of my leg and went through the roof of the garage. My whole thigh turned black, probably lucky it didn't break the leg or hit me in the head. I picked up a cheap set with the u-bolts at Pep-Boys for about $20.

i've had coilovers on my car for about 1 year and i haven't noticed any camber wear on my tires. its droped about 2 inches. install them yourself. you can get spring compressors at pep-boys for $30 and its just a few bolts that you have to take off. very basic.
