Default Do skunk2 stage 2 cams need more compression that I have?

I have .25 OS PCT in my b17. according to compression calculators around I have like an 11:3 compression. Is this good compression for S2 stage 2's or should I stick with my CTR cams? what do you think? I seen that an ideal compression for these cams is in the higher 11's. Can I benefit from using these cams? Also I have a corny Ebay Jun spec ECU that I plan on replacing. Should I go with Hondata or a VAFC? any help, tips or feedback or criticism is always appreciated. Thanks guys

skunk2 says anything over 11:1 is fine. The more the better though. My ls/vtec setup will have roughly 11:5:1 with sk2 stage II's. Skunk2 reccomends dyno tuning, as well as most anyone else on here with any knowledge. You can get away with a chipped ecu and vfac, but for the same money you can pick up an S100 and obd2-1 adapter. I'll have 400 in my p28 s100 and harness. Well worth the money for those cams. If you don't want to step up to engine management, get stage 1's or ctr's.

also as far as the cams... you'll need upgraded valve springs if you don't already have them. I would reccomend at least ITR retainers, otherwise get some sk2's.

I have a complete JDM ITR head on my car. it has the stock ITR valve springs and retainers. I also already have CTR cams. so you think I can run the S2S2's and benefit from them with my compression? I think I am still going with Hondata S100. I just like to get opinions from my fellow HT members

i run skunk2 stage2 on my 13.5:1 comp engine, and i think i was happier with the stage1 in it.
the stage1 are easier to tune, better idle, and they were designed better than these

the timing keyway on the stage2 was advanced compared to my stage1 so make sure u check ur timing!

I am surprised if you make any power at all with 11:3 CR. Man that is like 3.7:1 CR which is too low, even for a stock motor.

what are you talking about? low for a stock motor? what stock motors that you know of have more compression than mine stock? Do you mean I cant make power at all with these cams, or in general with my setup and compression? maybe Im misunderstanding

He's being a smart-*** about your placement of the decimal point.

Ditto.

11:3 CR or 11 to 3 CR = 3.7:1 CR or 3.7 to 1 CR

I was just being a smart-$%@.

The proper nomenclature is 11.3:1 CR or simply 11.3 CR

Your compression is perfect for running stage2's dont get stage 1's or ctrs. You will want more...
