Default Trunk rattling?

I know this has nothing to do with performance.

I found out that my trunk rattles with my sound system in it. My bro in law told me as he was walking up to my car as i am always in my car when it does it. Im not sure what it is rattling but someone else might have had the same problem. I got a 98 Civic EX. I will prolly try to check what exactly is ratting (if i can) later tonite/tomorrow. If nobody can help me with that, can anyone tell me where i can get stuff to dampen the vibration for my trunk?

Ty ahead of time

It could be your license plate. Mine did that before, the screws were loose. Also if you have a license plate frame, and the plate isn't behind the little tabs, it will rattle. I hope this helps.

That and maybe your spoiler (if you have one of course). I used to have the Si spoiler w/ brake lights in it and it would rattle at nothing.

I had a brief power outage right after i posted that, so i went out and figured it out. Well i think i did, im thinking that its too much air pressure for my trunk. As im running a 12". Im prolly gonna buy the insulation for the trunk so it isnt as bad. ty for the help

I found out what it is, its a common problem, as there is too much pressure for the trunk (as i suspected) and I must buy dampening supplies. Im not exactly sure where to find alot of this, but i looked on cardomain.com's store. Any other places or even stores where they might sell some?

I might drive up to tweeters near me to figure it out when i have time.

check your third brake light in your back window while you are at it.

dynamat the plate, rear deck, .....just about everywhere you can dynamat......

Subs cause vibration, after a while the vibrating loosens stuff, and the rattling just gets worse, keep your screws tight, and dynamat........it's an ongoing thing, what did you expect was gonna happen with all that bass?

Dynomat the hell out of the trunk lid you can get it on ebay if you cant find it local but I think circuit city sell it. Or turn your box around and have them fire into the car so you can hear it. I have 2 kicker 12L7 solos in ported boxes that fire into the car rather than the trunk but now the whole car rattles but mine theres no way around it for me unless I take them out?!?!

There is a plate that your lisence actually rests on if I remember correctly there is 6 or more 10 mm bolts that hold it on and is accessible when the trunk is open. Take it off and dynamat behind there. That was the problem with my 99 Civic, good luck.
