Clutch / Flywheel combo
Did some searching, looks like ACT seems to be a good clutch and prolite with the flywheel. What would be a good combo for my soon to be blown 5th gen prelude? 8 or 12lb flywheel? With the lighter weight it might fall out of vtec which i definately dont want. what you guys suggest?
If you need a pressure plate and 6 puck disk we have one on ebay for 1 more day. Its ACT they custom made the pressure plate for us to hold 600ft/lb of torque
This was only used 3 1/4 mile passes. This can save you a gang of cash.

Do you drive this lude alot becasue if so dont go 8 pound flywheel..get the 12, my friends got the stage 3 clutch by act and a 12 pound flywheel and the gears are pretty fast now..
i'd go with the 8 lb. if u shift quick enough your engine speed won't drop too rapidly. as for the clutch, i'd drive some friend's car or ask others how they like they're ACT or other clutch. i have a clutchmasters and love it, i've driven cars with ACT and hated it, but thats just my opinion.
Yea the car is my only means of transportation and i drive it a lot (1000 miles a month?) and non of my friends have manuel cars because they're girly men. What are the gains on a 12lb flywheel anyone? I think im gonna go with a 12lb and a act clutch stage 3?

I have a Fidanza 8lb flywheel and an Exedy Race clutch. I am VERY happy with my purchase.
Also, anyone who says that you fall out of VTEC with an 8lb flywheel, they obviously have never driven a car with one installed.
Also, daily driving is NOT any harder. Just a LITTLE different.

no personal expeirence here but I've been looking for the same kind of set up that you are and from the people i've talked to with H series the ones with the 12#er regret not getting the 8#er cuz they didn't notice much of a diffrence with the 12# one. So I'd say go with an 8#er.
