Default Went to the Track this weekend (road track) :)

Well I went to Pocono and ran the north course over the weekend. I had done it back in July with my Axxis pads and Azenis with only about 500 miles on them. Now I bought the Cobalt GT sports, and it was night and day. My Azenis have quite a few more miles on them now, and still sucked. Most of the guys I go with have R compounds or slicks, so I would kill the Azenis in the first few laps, then just slip and slide around for the rest of the session. I was running with the blue group(upper interm.) which was a lot of porches and Zo6's. I only got passed by one vette, but a few of the guys came up to me after the session and were sweatin the ride . They just wanted to know why I was keeping up with them(only in turns, they smoked me on the straights). I had a off track experience on Sunday, Which I have on video. I actually caught air . Car was fine though. I will post the video when I figure out how to get it from camera to computer, I dont think it has a usb jack

sorry to say but people who kill azenis in a few laps are overdriving them, especially on a track like pocono which has very few turns.

also, don't be proud of going off track at pocono. be happy you didn't roll your car. i've never seen a track more roll-prone than pocono.

how can you be too hard on the tires if there are no turns? secondly learning the limits of your tires and how to make them last takes time. people are too critical.

and i dont think he was proud of going off. hes no different then anyone else in here that brags about driving through the grass a few times.

First of all I wasnt proud of going off, it was just my first time doing so. And The Azenis dont have the grip, so While my friend was behind me on nice expensive tires, I kept pushing it a little more just because I felt that if I pushed them more, they might grip more. Didnt work . And Pocono has a few turns(not many), they're all just right handers. I was coming in with 102 on pass rear and almost 140 on driver rear( I think, I cant quite remember now). You have to love the drift characterisics of the ITR. On the track, that is

Did you have instructors at that event? It helps a lot in smoothness and tire wear....
