exhaust condition
for the canister exhaust (greddy trust) when you hear that it rattles inside or you hear something moves inside, does this mean basically the exhaust is useless meaning its broken and is goin to sound like crap. i bought a used trust and im hoping it won't sound like a tin can.
You would have to consider the way the exhaust setup is done to evaluate whether or not the muffler is bad. If you look at the car it is on and it has the Greddy piping and resonator intact, and sounds deep but not too loud - odds are it is fine. Ask the person if he has a hollowed out cat or straight pipe, or if he is running rich, or check for black soot/stains on the bumper above where the muffler exit is.
If there are black stains, no cat, and the muffler sounds like something is about to fall out - odds are it is in bad condition and you shouldn't buy it.
If the piping looks to be in good shape, there is a high flow or stock cat but it is just loud, you may want to check to see that he has a resonator installed as well as other mods that would effect the sound. That could explain loudness, but if it sounds like the insides of the muffler are rattling around it is possible that the sound dampening material is in bad condition.
