Default B16 smoke

In my b16 hatch if I roll down a hill in gear just letting the compression hold me back then push the gas after a few seconds I get large clouds of blue(oil) smoke. Any Ideas where I'm leaking?

lol....well I'd do a compression test at the very least, or ideally a leak down test to see what's going on in there...it's either a ring or valve seal issue.

Compression test showed 217-220 psi on all 4 cylinders on Saturday, so I'm not sure what else it could be if it's not a valve seal issue.

Does the car puff blue smoke when starting it up first thing in the morning or when it's been sitting for a while? That would be an indication of valve seals needing replacement. Other than that, has the engine been rebuilt before?

I agree with the man above, smoke on startup it's the guides, other than that I would have to say it's the rings. sorry bro

I'm not sure. It's not my car, so all I know for sure is what the compression #'s were this weekend.

No, the engine has not been rebuilt. It's a stock B16A2 block mated to a B18C1 head w/ a CTR intake cam.

ha ha thanks chris for doing all my replies for me, i've been out of town for a while! the car smokes only after compressing down hill, thats it. its blue smoke not black ( oil not gas ). It doesn't smoke at start-up and my oil levels are not changing much. I'm thinking (along with board of advisers) valve guides, i just wonder if anyone has seen similar instances?

Sorry about that. You weren't replying, so I figured I'd jump in there for you.

change the valve guide seals or throw on another head. i had a few motors do that and it was always the valve seals.
