So I totaled my car in June, just now getting around to working on it. A CEL was on, but it was the Primary O2, (just some wires loose) now it's fixed...The car now idles around 1300-1500. I unplugged the IACV, and it dropped like it's supposed to, but should I clean it anyway? What are some things I should check for? I'm just worried if the wreck could've caused this, but I can't figure out what is going on. The car ran 100% great before the wreck, but now this...please...any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
What car?
What did the idle drop to when you unplugged the IACV?
Are you getting a hunting idle - or just a constant high idle? If its constant, is the throttle cable loose enough?

It's a 98 JDM ITR motor...in my 96 civic...sorry bout that, but anyway, yeah it just sits at a constant 1500 rpm high idle when warmed up (obviously higher when cold). But the throttle cable isn't even hooked up...so that shouldn't be the problem, right?
Oh yeah, when I unplugged the IACV, it dropped to just over 500...is that the norm?
Another thing----is there anyway it could have jumped timing in the wreck? I'll probably check that this weekend.
