i would use castrol gtx 5w30 and redline friction modifier.
should be cheaper and/or work better.

Sizearch the hon-teckay
https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch Archived results for MTL, MTF and Synchromesh.
Most people stick with Honda MTL, some people report their synchros feel better with the GM Synchromesh. Some people like the Redline bling too.
Some of those posts need to get into the FAQ... I didn't see it there.

i'm currently running GM syncromesh friction modified in my car.
it's just a thicker oil (10w40) with friction modifier.
thicker oil protects the trannies gears really well, but supposedly you lose your trannies efficiency. the friction modifier helps too.
next time around i'm running 5w40 or 10w40 castrol gtx w/redline friction modifier.

What you don't hear is those friction modifiers you find in redline and synchromesh, wear out your synchros faster....you won't hear that on this site.....everyone just talks about how buttery their shifts are...
i forgot who started the debate about the reliability or compatibility of syncromesh friction modified with out trannies, but ever since then it's only been honda MTF.

that's funny because friction modifier is the only difference between honda mtf 5w30 conventional oil.

I've posted it before. If I have some time later today I will dig it up, but the oil analysis doesnt lie.
IMHO, Honda MTF = junk for a car that sees any kind of 'hard' use (i.e. track where heat can cause issue). Even on a street car it comes out much, much thinner than it goes in due to breaking down.
