negative terminal on the distributor, unless you have a external pack you'll have to wire under the cap.

Thats what i did, but i have a msd external coil-pack.

i think you can just tap the rpm signal wire into the wire in the upper right of your engine bay if your looking at it from the front of your car? its mounted on a clip and has a wire going to it that dosent lead to anything. that might be easiest. maybe easier to run the wires else where than behind your cluster. good luck.

yea i know it is probably easier wire it up the other way. but i want to wire it up behind my cluster. but i don't know which wire is which behind the cluster. so any help in that area would be very appreciated. thanks.

what i did was tap into where the distributor cap. right behind that u will see a big connector that that harnesses an *** load of different colored wires connect the white one from the tach to the blue one. dont forget to cut the brown and orange wire loops on the back of the tach too

All the wiring can be done from behind the dash.

1. Red tach wire goes to black/yellow wire behind dash.
2. Orange tach wire goes to red/black wire behind dash.
3. White tach wire goes to blue wire behind dash.
4. Black wire goes to the bolt next to your hood release.

NP, what brand tach is it? I know that autometer uses green for the tach signal wire and white as the background lighting.

its a pivot racing tach. i use to have it in my prelude awhile back. then gave it away to my little brother. its a small tach not big like the 5" autometer.
