Is a camber kit needed for a 98 prelude? Also what springs woul you reccommend?
My friend is dropping his prelude and wants to know if a camber kit is needed. Also which springs would you guys recommend?
Well, on both counts, it depends.
A spring/shock recommendation is impossible without knowing how much money he wants to spend, and how much ground clearance clearance & suspenion travel he wants to keep.
The amount of the drop will determine how much negative camber there is - any more than 1.5-2 degrees you may want to consider camber kits. As a rule of thumb, on a Prelude an inch drop usually means roughly a degree of negative camber. But every car & setup is different.

Well I was hoping for my friend to get negative camber to less than 1.25 degrees. What I was trying to find out is if the prelude already have an adjustable camber kit. Or atleast slightyly adjustable. Not like the civics where they're not that adjustable.
No, camber isn't adjustable on the Preludes. Can't use washers to shim out the upper control arm like you can on a Civic, either.
yes, he will need a camber kit no matter how much of a drop he want to go with specialy if he has aftermarket rims.
as far recommending springs and shocks it depends on how much money there is to spend. a popular set-up here in this prelude forum is the konni yellow with ground control coilovers. an other less expensive alternative is the kyb agx shocks with h&R springs. good luck!
